Best day ever - giphy
I was commissioned by Giphy in New York to create a 30 second animated ‘Clip.’
The brief was incredibly open, so I took the opportunity to pitch an idea i’d had for a while. My film is a loving tribute to all the free plastic toys in cereal that were around in the 80’s and 90’s.

I started with storyboards. I wanted the film to flow nicely and have lots of fun camera movements and dynamic animation. From this I was able to create an animatic which helped me pace out the film and make sure everything was working.
For the designs, I wanted to draw from the Saturday morning cartoons I watched growing up. Shows like Rugrats, Doug and Rocko’s Modern life all contributed to the look and feel, but with my own twist on it all.
For the animation, I created a rough timed out version and then gradually cleaned it up until I was happy with the general flow, pace and action. Then I cleaned it up and added colour and textures in photoshop and AfterEffects.
